Biography

A classmate in high school once told me that a few villages away there lived a hermit named G. J. in the woods. A strange man, people said he studied himself into insanity. He lived there in a kind of hut, big beard, strange clothes, etc. He was sitting in a wooden tub at night beating his drums, had an invisible dog and was building a bunker with an incredible amount of concrete for some kind of third world drama. They went there as boys to lure him out of his cabin.

That story always stuck with me because I am extremely fascinated by those kind of things. Two years ago I asked that old classmate where exactly that had been. He said that the hermit had now died, but that his hut might still be there.

I went to take a look and everything was still there. Only a few construction fences with some tarpaulin around them... The door was open. I couldn’t contain my curiosity and went inside.

What I saw in there totally blew my mind. It was a huge mess and everything was torn apart, but what did I find there:
-Spiritual magazines
-All kinds of strange oriental figurines
-Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart record Bongo Fury!
-And next to a cupboard full of spiritual books, another cupboard that was full of 1 and the same book, the book on the picture:
TAU MEDITATION AND INNER ALCHEMY
a study workbook towards fullness of life and immortality

He had written this himself, shelves full of his unsold book.

I started to wonder, was this man insane or a genius?

I was overwhelmed and totally fascinated. Lyrics started pouring into my head, it all suited the music I was making sooo well.

This is where it all started.

By the time my record will be released G.J. will become immortal anyway.

For privacy reasons I only use his initials but believe me, the story is true.
